Inferno as Counter-Terrorists

In this tutorial I will show you how to throw a few smart grenades to help you defend or prevent rushes.

To easily practice these grenades offline you can use the console commands in my other post.

Smoke Banana from CT spawn

To smoke the entrance to Banana right from CT spawn you need to be quick, because the grenade takes about 8 seconds to place when thrown, and Terror needs about 12 seconds to get to that spot. Meaning form the start of the round, you’ll have a 4 second window to start the throw.

Start in this corner in CT base, directly next to the rock:

Next, quickly align the top of the church-tower with the little chimney:

Run forward and release the smoke as soon as your cursor aligns with the little roof you’re walking under:

The smoke should land directly in front of Banana and smoke the entrance off:


It is probably useful to let another team member rush Banana from B and throw a grenade or flame nade (flame, of course, in front of the smoke) to stop a rush through the smoke altogether.

This smoke prevents a direct Banana rush and lets you focus on A rushes. Secondly, this smoke makes you need only one player on B. Keep 1 arch player standby to help on B after this smoke though.

Smoke balcony from arch

When A is overrun and the guys from B need to come to the rescue, often when the bomb is planted some of the T’s will hide on balcony. To smoke balcony from arch, take the following steps.

Align yourself with the middle of the window next to arch:


Turn around and aim at the position shown in the image:

Release and profit:


Eco nades

On an eco rush you could choose to all rush mid with glocks and a HE grenade.
Throw the nades all at the same time in the direction of Terror spawn and profit. Guaranteed 1 or 2 kills, the rest damaged. On bad luck (everyone went 2nd mid), rotate back to A and stay together with everyone.
